Buying a car or truck / pick up without preparing beforehand, almost always means you will make a bad deal. We don’t realize what a bad deal we make when we go in not being ready to do battle.
Many auto dealers are masters of deception. They conjure up loopholes, tricks, and apply powerful, but subtle, sales pressure. Of course – they are nimble with numbers.

Bad credit tends to put us at a disadvantage. We get this heavy feeling and notion that bad credit means we are inferior – and we’ll have to pay the penalty for it. We might pay a penalty, but there’s no need to lose an arm and a leg, is there?
The auto sales people still think they have buyers over a barrel. That used to be true, many times, because of buyer ignorance. If we keep our cool and realize that they are under monster pressure to sell and the competition is fierce, then we can turn the tables. But, if we bend to their pressure then they get us big time. It is critical to know their game better than them.
Just one example of how numbers are "massaged":
They may offer you an APR (annual percentage rate) that sounds cheap, considering your, quote, "bad credit". But there numbers and there are ways of presenting numbers. The APR they quote means nothing. Little do you realize they have their hands deep in your pocket! If you realized the true cost of the vehicle, you’d scream for the police!
When you know their game and how it works, they are powerless to manipulate you.
Being well-informed, you can buy a truck (pick up), even with bad credit. You can use their fear of not making a sale to your advantage and get a much better deal.
